Michael Meyer

Michael Meyer is widely regarded as the definitive translator of IBSEN and STRINDBERG.  His Strindberg translations made him the first Englishman to receive the Gold Medal of the Swedish Academy in 1964, and his biography of Ibsen won the Whitbread Biography Award in 1971 and is regarded as definitive even in Norway.  His stage play about Strindberg and his three marriages LUNATIC AND LOVER, won a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Festival in 1978 and was well received in London in 1981.

"Michael Meyer is the translator most actors turn to when seeking a definitive text" (Sunday Times)
