Ross Dunsmore

Ross Dunsmore is from Glasgow. He trained as an actor at RADA and has since worked extensively in theatre, film and television including productions with the National Theatre of Scotland, Theatre Clwyd, Chichester Festival Theatre, Sheffield Crucible, the Bush Theatre, Borderline Theatre Company, TAG, the Tron, the Finborough and the Young Vic.

As a writer he took an MA in film at the University of London before spending a year studying playwriting with John Burgess, former Head of New Writing at the National Theatre. One of the winners of the Scotland Short Play Award 2015, his short works for theatre have also been performed in London, Milan and New York. MILK, his first full length play, premiered at the Traverse Theatre in August 2016. He won the Tom Erhardt Award 2017 and was shortlisted for the Brian Way Award 2018. He completed the BBC’s TV Drama Writers’ Programme in 2017 and currently has a seed commission with Theatre Centre, London, and is under commission to BBC Radio 4.
