Catharine Ashdown’s background is as script editor for TV drama, film and theatre, working with new talent through to established writers. Starting her career in script development with Hilary Salmon in BBC Drama Series, most recently she was Literary Associate at the Theatre Writing Partnership. Her feature film treatment, TROUBLE, was selected for development by the BFI / Creative Skillset ‘Adapt to Film’ programme (2017) – it tells the true-life story of IRA victim Ann Travers. Catharine also developed a feature screenplay, BORDERLAND, with Northern Ireland Screen, wrote a stage play, BYGONES, for Nottingham Playhouse and developed original drama series HOMETOWN for ITV Drama.
