Christopher Green is a wonderful and incredibly original Olivier award winning writer, performer and non-binary artist.
Christopher writes, performs and directs incredibly immersive experimental theatre, including their recent shows NO SHOW at The Yard and PRURIENCE at The Southbank Centre (later transferring to The Guggenheim in New York). As for television, Christopher has a drama series in development with Pinewood called BOUFFANT (about set in the world of 1950s hairdressing to the stars) and another drama series in development with Susie Liggat for SKY based on their radio show. Christopher is well loved for their performing and has toured worldwide in venues from The Albert Hall to the Sydney Opera House. Their hilarious and finely tuned comic characters (including faux country singer Tina C www.tinac.net and pensioner rapper Ida Barr www.idabarr.net) are sharp, satirical and intelligent yet accessible.
Christopher has had numerous commissions for Radio 4. Most recently they wrote and narrated a five part radio drama entitled THE EXPERIENCE OF LOVE as part of Radio 4’s ‘Writing the Century’ season where they tell the story behind the National Gay and Lesbian survey. Chris is also well known for their Radio 4 comedy drama LIKE AN ANGEL PASSING THROUGH MY ROOM about their fascination with Frida from ABBA, which critics described as warm, funny and touching. They’ve also recently written and performed in a new play at Wilton’s music hall, called Music Hall Monster, which was also adapted for Radio 4, and they recently starred as Malvolio in Twelfth Night at the Bristol Old Vic.
