Jason Cook


Jason Cook is an award winning stand-up and writer. Since 2005 he has written many critically acclaimed stand-up shows, and has completed sell-out national and international tours, taken home the coveted award for Best International Show at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival and has performed stand-up on television on shows such as Dave’s One Night Stand (DAVE), Live from the Comedy Store (Comedy Central), The Russell Howard Show (BBC), Stand-Up Central (Comedy Store).

After taking a step-back from stand up, Jason has focused his energy into writing. Since 2010 Jason has written and starred in two series of the award winning BBC2 sitcom Hebburn, as well as writing two feature length specials for GOLD, Murder on The Blackpool Express (which is the highest rating show in GOLD History!) and Death on The Tyne. He is currently working on the third, Dial M for Middlesborough, due to air in December 2019. Jason also wrote and starred in his own Radio 4 series Jason Cook’s Happiness HQ. Aside from his own projects, Jason has written for Miranda (BBC1), Mock The Week (BBC1), Virtually Famous (E4), Comic Relief (BBC1), C-Bomb (BBC Three) and was the head writer on The Chris Ramsey Show (Comedy Central). Oh, and he won Celebrity Mastermind… so he’s clever too!
