Jodie is a sharp young screenwriter, playwright and performer specialising in dark comedy and comedy drama. Her one woman play GOBBY received critical acclaim (★★★★★ "Unforgettable" Broadway Baby, "Triumphant" Stage Whispers, ★★★★ "An accomplished piece" The Stage, "Not to be missed" The Upcoming) and after a successful UK tour supported by Arts Council England and a run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, was picked up for a run at Pleasance Theatre's "Best of Edinburgh" Season and VAULT Festival (Lyn Gardner's 2020 Picks). The show is also embarking on an Australian tour next month after being picked up by Hey Boss, producers of Fleabag. GOBBY is a playlist of awkward encounters, starting over again and growing up. The show centres around Bri, a ‘gobby’ young woman recovering from an emotionally abusive relationship. Bri is not who she used to be, so she's revisiting the five parties that changed her. Jodie is an alumni of Soho Theatre's Young Company, and has had numerous pieces published by satirical magazine Succubus. Jodie is a gifted improviser and has trained with prestigious schools iO and The Second City (Chicago) and UCB (Los Angeles) in performing and writing. She works frequently with Monkey Toast UK, Hoopla and The Nursery Theatre in London. On the TV writing side Jodie is developing GOBBY for screen and also has a comedy drama pilot called THE GREAT UNWATCHED in development.
