Originally from Wales, Sara is an award-winning Welsh-Iranian producer, director and screenwriter with a background in documentary making. Her credits as a documentary producer include Grierson nominated AGONY AND ECSTASY: A YEAR AT THE ENGLISH NATIONAL BALLET for the BBC, KIDS WITH CAMERAS: DIARY OF A CHILDREN’S WARD for ITV and the critically acclaimed Channel 4 series LONDON’S GREATEST BRIDGES: LIGHTING THE THAMES where she conceived the idea for the show and secured the 3-part commission. Sara is passionate about bringing purpose to true stories, and she’s experienced at working in development and pitching. She’s also highly skilled at working with sensitive contributors and gaining complex access. From 2019-2022 Sara worked in-house as a director and producer at top news provider Bloomberg, prior to this, Sara was an Executive Producer at ITN Productions and worked in-house at production companies such as Tiger Aspect, TwoFour, Plum Pictures, Avalon and SBS Australia, where her show DANCING WITH DEMENTIA was nominated for a UNAA award. Sara is currently developing a documentary set between her father’s homeland in Iran and the UK which she will direct, as well as writing two semi-autobiographical original Welsh set dramas.
