Born and raised in Sunderland and following a degree in English, Andrew won a DaDA award and trained at Webber Douglas. He has spent the following decade working as an actor for companies including NT and Sheffield Theatres.

His play IN EVENT OF MOONE DISASTER has won the Theatre503 Playwriting Award 2016 and is due to be staged in 2017. Andrew’s writing has previously been shortlisted for the Kenneth Branagh Award and won the Branching Out Festival in association with Sell A Door Theatre. He was selected as a Jerwood/Arvon playwriting fellow for 2014/15 and spent the year under the mentorship of David Eldridge.

Andrew's writing has been staged in venues including Live Theatre, The Crucible, The Vaults, and Theatre503. His political drama PROMISES ran at The Bridewell Theatre in April 2015 in association with Big Picnic Productions. His play THE ALLOTMENT, has received development support from Arts Council England and Live Theatre, and is currently in development with Poleroid Theatre. He is currently writing two new plays.
