BAFTA winner and Tony nominated director John Crowley is internationally acclaimed for his work both on the stage and the screen.  Crowley started his career in Ireland, directing plays including THE MASTER BUILDER, and THE CRUCIBLE.  Following this, Crowley moved to London where he was the Associate Director at the famed Donmar Warehouse directing INTO THE WOODS, THE MAIDS, and TALES FROM HOLLYWOOD.   On the West End, Crowley directed ON AN AVERAGE DAY which starred Woody Harrelson & Kyle MacLachlan, LOVE SONG which starred Neve Campbell & Cillian Murphy, and the Olivier Award winning THE PILLOWMAN by Martin McDonagh, which starred David Tennant and Jim Broadbent. THE PILLOWMAN transferred from The National Theatre to Broadway and earned Crowley a Tony Award nomination for Best Director.  Also on Broadway, Crowley directed A STEADY RAIN starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig and A BEHANDING IN SPOKANE starring Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell and Zoe Kazan.  Crowley most recently directed Cate Blanchett and Richard Roxburgh in an adaptation of Chekov’s THE PRESENT for The Sydney Theatre Company.  

His first feature film INTERMISSION, starring Colin Farrell and Cillian Murphy, won Crowley a British Independent Film Award for Best Debut Director.  His subsequent film, BOY A, starring Andrew Garfield and Peter Mullan won Crowley a BAFTA for Best Director.   Other work includes IS ANYBODY THERE? starring Michael Caine.  His new feature BROOKLYN is adapted by Nick Hornby from Colm Toibin’s novel and stars Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson and Emory Cohen, with Amanda Posey and Finola Dwyer producing.
