Meredith’s plays include SCENES FROM THE BACK OF BEYOND (Royal Court, 2006); SHADOWMOUTH (Sheffield Theatre, 2006); MAN FOR HIRE (Scarborough 2002); FAITH (Royal Court Theatre 1997); MIND THE GAP (Hampstead Theatre 1995); THE EDITING PROCESS (Royal Court Theatre 1994) and THE NEIGHBOUR (Royal National Theatre 1993).

Translations include PUNISHMENT WITHOUT REVENGE by Lope de Vega (Theatre Royal Bath, 2013); IPHIGENIA by Goethe (Theatre Royal Bath, 2011); HELDENPLATZ by Thomas Bernhard (Arcola Theatre, 2010)  and THE HOUR WE KNEW NOTHING OF EACH OTHER by Peter Handke (Royal National Theatre 2008). Other translations include Schiller’s KABALE UND LIEBE, Strindberg’s MISS JULIE, Horvath’s ITALIAN NIGHT, Bernhard’s ELIZABETH II, Lenz’s THE NEW MENOZA, PRINCESSES by the Algerian writer Fatima Gallaire, DIE PRASIDENTINNEN by the Austrian Werner Shwab, DIE LIEBE IST NUR EINE MÖGLICHKEIT and MIT DEM GURKENFLIEGER IN DIE SÜDSEE by Christoph Nuβbaumeder for theatres including The Gate, the Young Vic and The Royal Court Theatre.

Meredith has written opera librettos for Gerald Barry’s THE TRIUMPH OF BEAUTY AND DECEIT (Gerald Barry) and THE TEMPEST (Tom Ades).

Her radio plays include TRAMPOLINE (BBC, 2001); MIND OF THE MEETING (BBC,2002) and ALEX TROD ON MY FAIRY (BBC 2008).

Meredith is currently commissioned by Music Theatre Wales and is writing a libretto, EUCALYPTUS, for Australia Opera based on the acclaimed novel of the same name by Murray Bail.
