Annetta Laufer is a British German Jamaican filmmaker. She is currently directing a legal thriller for Drama Republic/Parti Productions and prior to this directed a block of detective thriller, GET MILLIE BLACK in Jamaica for HBO/Channel 4, the series was produced by Motive Pictures, created and written by Marlon James. Annetta directed the DR WHO New Years Day Special for the BBC written by Chris Chibnall, making her the first Black woman to do so, plus a new version of the period drama, THE FORSYTES for Mammoth Screen. Her short film THE ARRIVAL, financed by BFI and starring Naomi Ackie is now in feature development under the new title MOTHER COUNTRY, she also has a grounded horror feature in development at Film4 which is based in Jamaican folklore entitled WILD SWIMMING, the script of which has been accepted into the prestigious Berlinale Talent Lab.
