Bisha K. Ali is a screenwriting star on the rise. She is currently in LA where she was the showrunner for the new Disney+ series MS. MARVEL, and is currently working on an animation feature titled CENTURY GODDESS for Spire Animation, as well as an original project in development with Chapter One Pictures for Netflix UK. Prior to this she was in the writer’s room for Mindy Kaling’s adaptation of FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL for Hulu/MGM.

Bisha's career as a professional writer began when a table read of her comedy pilot script BOOK CLUB was produced by Tiger Aspect and Sky, as part of their diversity initiative. The script was performed by Jessie Cave, Nish Kumar, Vivienne Acheampong and John Kearns and led to Tiger Aspect subsequently optioning the script, along with another original comedy project of Bisha’s. In 2018, Bisha was selected for the 2018 BAFTA Elevate programme.

Bisha also spent a week in the writers’ room and provided additional material for SEX EDUCATION, a brand new comedy drama for Netflix (produced by Eleven Film) which is in production now and stars Gillian Anderson and Asa Butterfield. She has also been in the writers' room for Deborah Frances-White’s Channel 4 topical entertainment pilot NEXT WEEK'S NEWS (produced by Merman), and TRUE BELIEVERS, a comedy drama series for CBBC.

As a performer, Bisha’s voice is frequently heard on the much lauded THE GUILTY FEMINIST podcast which has recorded over 100 episodes in venues such as The London Palladium and The Royal Albert Hall, and she also hosts the BBC Radio 4 podcast GROWNUPLAND, with Mae Martin and Ned Sedgwick. In 2012 she took part in the Royal Court Theatre’s Young Writers’ Programme, and she has had numerous non-fiction and fiction articles published online.
