Christina Carty

Christina writes in English and Irish and penned coming of age comedy-drama Ag Briseadh Tríd (Breaking Through), a series for Keeper Pictures whilst developing Vernon’s – an ensemble family comedy (for stage and film) and her latest film Abhaile (Home) is gearing up for a summer shoot. Abhaile is a heartwarming road trip feature for Village Film funded by BBC NI, Screen Ireland and Northern Ireland Screen’s Irish Language Broadcast Fund. Christina graduated last year from Brunel University with an MA in Creative Writing and is writing her debut novel for which she won The Comedy Women in Print Runner Up Prize 2023 for Unpublished Novel and highlighted as “anarchic and daring” by the panel. Christina has had poetry published by Lucent Dreaming, Tvar Magazine and A Word in Your Ear Anthology, and commissioned by London Irish Centre.
