Craig Freimond

Craig is a South African writer and director of theatre, film and television recently relocated to London. He has written and directed five feature films, both original and adapted which have won awards and had successful theatrical local runs – Material for instance won five SAFTAs in 2013. Craig has written and directed a lot of original TV series for producers in Nigeria and South Africa and for broadcasters and streamers such as the SABC and Netflix. The latest shows to be broadcast include Blood Sisters (Nigeria’s Ebony Life for Netflix), Oloture (Ebony Life), and feature doc 57 (Diprente for SABC). The second season of Blood Sisters is upcoming (Craig head-wrote) and the second season of Fatal Seduction on which Craig directed several episodes recently dropped on Netflix. He is currently adapting a quirky true crime series for the streamer on which he shall direct all six episodes. His recent theatre work has played at the Baxter (Cape Town), the Market (Joburg), Hilton and National Arts fests to rave reviews and winning Ovation Awards.
