Daniel Handler

Daniel Handler is an American author, based in San Francisco with his wife. He is the author of seven novels and most recently a memoir, AND THEN? AND THEN? WHAT ELSE? Writing as Lemony Snicket, he is the author of numerous books for children, including POISON FOR BREAKFAST, the four-volume ALL THE WRONG QUESTIONS and the thirteen-volume A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS, which was adapted for screen and television. The Snicket books have sold more than 75 million copies and been translated into 39 languages. 

Daniel’s first play, IMAGINARY COMFORTS, OR THE STORY OF THE GHOST OF THE DEAD RABBIT, enjoyed an extended run at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. He has also received commissions from the Royal Shakespeare Company, the San Francisco Symphony, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. His television adaptation of A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS won both a Peabody Award and a Writer's Guild of America Award, and his essay on Eurythmics' album SAVAGE is still considered definitive.
