Daniel writes for film, TV and theatre. After co-writing ‘Ruritania’ (season 6, episode 6 of THE CROWN), he is now co-writing an episode of a forthcoming TV series by Peter Morgan. He will also serve as associate producer on a planned Peter Morgan feature.
He continues to develop his original film and television projects in Britain and the United States. As well as script commissions with Two Brothers Pictures and New Regency, he is developing his feature script with directors Adam and Aaron Nee (THE LOST CITY) at Persons Attempting.
He began his TV career working in drama development for Eleven Film (SEX EDUCATION) and then joined THE CROWN writing team in 2016 – starting as a story researcher before becoming a staff writer on Season 5 and 6. In 2024, he was nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award for his work on Season 6.
As a writer/director, his short films, FUTURES (2018) and CONTE ANGLAIS (2019) have screened at more than thirty short film festivals around the world. These include BAFTA-qualifying festivals such as the London Short Film Festival, Flickers' Rhode Island and PÖFF Shorts in Tallinn.
A graduate of the Soho Theatre Writers' Lab and Lyric Hammersmith Young Writers Programme, his short plays have been performed at Theatre503 and the Arcola Theatre. In 2020, he was shortlisted for the London Magazine Short Story Prize and selected as one of 40 participants—out of 800 applicants—in the London Library Emerging Writers Programme. His prose writing has previously appeared in the Times Literary Supplement, Literary Review and the London Magazine.
