Ellis is a writer-performer who is currently developing projects with Sid Gentle under the mentorship of James Graham, Bad Wolf and Hera. He has further projects in development with Federation Entertainment and See-Saw.

Ellis has also previously worked with HBO, the National Theatre and the Barbican, having begun creating political theatre with BRASS RAZOO, which launched national policy change around child poverty in 2015. Other theatre work includes TALK TO THE DOG and WE ARE NOT IN THE SAME BOAT, which explored the undocumented working-class perspective of the pandemic.

As an actor, Ellis is represented by Curtis Brown and most recently starred in Hera Pictures' adaptation of WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL for the BBC, for which he was named part of the BAFTA Breakthrough cohort of 2025.
