Emma Grazette

Emma Grazette is a British-Barbadian producer, with 13 years in the industry. She produced on Seasons 14 and 15 of Red Planet’s Death in Paradise for BBC in Guadeloupe. As well as her on-the-ground experience of shooting in the Caribbean, she has a strong interest in stories from the region, alongside a broader slate of international work. 

Projects under her company Blue J Pictures, includes a Jamaican set feature in development with BBC Film (writer Yasmin Joseph), a Ghanaian set street level fantasy feature with writer-director Edem Wornoo, a survival thriller with director Jesse Quinones, and several TV series including a female led adaptation of an Alex Wheatle novel set aboard a pirate ship and a crime-mystery set in rural England. 

She was previously co-director of Raucous Films, where they completed a minority co-production on The Birthday Party, starring Willem Dafoe, which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival.

Emma holds an MA in Producing from the NFTS, supported by a BAFTA scholarship, and a BA in English and Caribbean Literature. Both of her graduation films earned top honours: one won a Student Academy Award and the other received Gold at Cannes Lions. She was part of the first cohort of Channel 4 / We Are Parable’s Momentum programme supporting Black British filmmakers and has been mentored by producer Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor (Dreamers, Champions) and Claudia Yusef, former Head of Development at BBC Film.

In 2025, Emma was selected for Creative England’s Female Founders programme, a competitive initiative supporting 15 female-led screen businesses in England to prepare for investment and growth. She also took part in the Cross Continental Forum in Barbados, a five-day programme for 26 producers across the UK, Canada, Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean, focused on building co-production networks across the global South.

She is available for producing, story producing, executive producing, and associate producing opportunities, and is actively looking to meet writers and directors with an eye to expand her slate of feature projects.
