Himanshu is a London based screenwriter and playwright from the West Midlands, drawn to character-driven genre stories that often resonate with the major topics he has reported on as a journalist. He was previously selected for the BBC Voices 2023 and more recently the BBC Scripted 2024/25 (formerly Drama Room), where he wrote period drama "Eagle Falls" and contemporary blue lights drama "Golden Hour", respectively. Himanshu's short play "The Hand of Hozan" was performed as part of James Graham's "Sketching" at Wilton's Music Hall, with standout praise for its "Dickensian grip and pungency". He also wrote the short play "Antechamber" and extracts of his full-length thriller play "The Forger's Tale" have been performed as part of the Criterion Theatre's New Writing Showcase. Himanshu was an actor before studying for a MA degree in journalism from Columbia University. He has worked for the Bureau of Investigative Journalism and Reuters, where he was a data reporter on the investigations and enterprise desk in the US and UK, covering a range of topics from income inequality to corruption in the Russian railway industry to the migration crisis.
