Jaco is a filmmaker and theatre maker whose debut feature Gaia, an eco-horror premiered at SXSW in 2021 (and won the the ZEISS Cinematography Award) before selling in the US (Bleecker Street) and UK (Altitude) amongst others. His latest film the psychological horror Orion starring the Brat Pack’s Andrew McCarthy premiered at Trieste and FilmQuest last year and is out to buyers before which he adapted and directed the claustrophobic and haunting two-hander Breathing In. He directed all 8 episodes of Spinners for Canal+/Showmax and the show is the first African series to showcase at CanneSeries and it won Best Series at the inaugural Dakar Series event in 2023, Jaco is currently in post on season 2. Niggies (Cousins), a true crime limited series for kykNET on which Jaco directed all 9 eps aired early 2025 breaking every record for the broadcaster.
