Kitty Percy is an award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker known both for original work and for adaptations in film and TV. Her acclaimed debut feature SHE WILL (dir. Charlotte Colbert, starring Alice Krige, Rupert Everett, and Malcom McDowell) had a London Film Festival premiere and a successful worldwide theatrical release in 2022. She has original TV dramas in development with Wild Mercury / Banijay, House Productions and Synchronicity Films, and has written for shows such as BBC series SISTER BONIFACE MYSTERIES and SHAKESPEARE AND HATHAWAY. Her book-to-screen commissions include DARKNESS FALLS, adapted from ‘The Vanishing of Katharina Linden’ by Helen Grant, and GRACE, from children’s laureate Morris Gleitzman’s novel. Kitty recently directed her first film, sci-fi short RED PLANET BLUE, from her own prize-winning script. Her next short, FOR BETTER, is due to shoot in Spring 2024. Kitty writes with a darkly comedic edge, tackling complex themes surrounding relationships, mental illness, family dynamics and sexual politics. Her knack for pace and atmosphere enables her to work across genres including drama, crime, horror, and high concept ‘near fi’.
