LIZZIE MICKERY was originally an actress before starting her career as a writer on the ITV police show The Bill. She has adapted several novels for the BBC including The Beggar Bride and The Ice House (best screenplay Reims Television and Film Festival).
She launched The Inspector Lynley Mysteries from the novels by Elizabeth George. Other work includes the first three films of the Messiah franchise, a co-production with BBC and Paramount. Single films include Love or Money, Every Time You Look at Me and the award-winning Sinners (which included 5 Magnolia awards at the Shanghai Festival).
Lizzie was co-writer with Daniel Percival on Dirty War, a co-production with HBO and BBC Films. They collaborated again on the 6-part conspiracy thriller, The State Within, a co-production with the BBC and BBC America which received two Golden Globe nominations. She was both writer and executive producer on Instinct, a two-part thriller for ITV (best drama Northern RTS.)
Lizzie wrote the screenplay for the most recent adaptation of BBC The 39 Steps, and was writer and executive producer on the BBC series Paradox.
In the US Lizzie worked as consultant producer/writer on the second season of the Fox hit, The Following. She was consultant producer/writer on TNT’s drama, Proof.
Lizzie was co-executive producer/writer on Netflix’s award-winning drama, Bloodline. She worked with Guillermo Del Toro developing the mini-series The Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Deaths for HBO, as an executive producer/writer with Oliver Stone and Daniel Voll on their Guantanamo drama for Showtime. She was a co-executive producer/writer on TNT’s Snowpiercer.
In the UK she is creator/executive producer on Fuegia with Fabula/Element/Fremantle. Creator/executive producer on Magnum with Elastic, and creator/executive producer on the Louise Doughty adaptation A Bird in Winter with Dancing Ledge/Fremantle. She is creator/executive on Many Faces with New Regency UK.
