Having started in international journalism and theatre Lydia Adetunji is now a successful film and tv writer. She was the showrunner of both seasons of NOUGHTS & CROSSES (BBC/Mammoth). Her other credits include HIS DARK MATERIALS (HBO/BBC/Bad Wolf), GET MILLE BLACK (HBO/Channel 4/Motive), THE LAST KINGDOM (Netflix/BBC/Carnival) and upcoming projects for Apple, Sky and Amazon.
In film, she’s developing an original horror with Film4/Potboiler for Otto Bathurst to direct and a major biopic with Hal Vogel/Film4
In theatre, FIXER, her first full-length play, opened at the 2009 HighTide Festival in Suffolk. It was revived at Oval House in 2011 and is published by Nick Hern Books. Her second, COMPLIANCE, was written while she was Pearson playwright in residence at Paines Plough, and won the Catherine Johnson award for Best Play. Other work includes CALCULATING KINDNESS, which opened at Camden People’s Theatre in 2016. She has previously been on attachment to the National Theatre and the Royal Court.
