Myriam Raja


Myriam graduated from the NFTS in 2018 with AZAAR, which was nominated for the BAFTA for Best British Short Film in 2020. Her previous short, THE THIRD SORROW, screened at the BFI London Film Festival in 2018 and won 2019’s ‘16 Films, 16 Days’ (an initiative run by Modern Films & The Kering Foundation.) Her earlier films include TEHZEEB (screened at BFI London Film Festival and winner of the RTS award for Best Undergraduate Drama) and SHAMAS (official selection, East End Film Festival, Encounters, London Short Film Festival.) Myriam completed the Cowboy Films/Netflix TOP BOY director mentoring scheme in 2019, shadowing Aneil Karia and directing second unit. She is developing a feature version of her short AZAAR with producer Nat Baring and Film4.
