Neo is a Johannesburg based screenwriter and producer who has written on countless local TV series including The River, The Estate, Gomora, The Queen, The Imposter, The Herd, Lavish and Uzalo. She has also written and EP’d a dozen made-for-tv films and three feature films for Mutichoice. In HETV Neo has written on Savage Beauty, How to Ruin Love, and Sugar Reign all for Netflix. She is currently developing her own series uKushona Kwelanga, a six-part drama series whose seeds were planted during the Netflix Realness Episodic Lab and which she developed further at the Global Media Makers Residency in LA last year. Neo was awarded the jury’s prize in Dakar October 2024. She is currently head writing a screen adaptation of After Tears by Niq Mhlongo for Ochre Moving Pictures and Netflix, she is an episodic writer on SA’s biggest daily drama Generations and is writing an original TV drama set in Joburg’s MMA scene for Showmax. Her original feature film The Art of Stealing New Years is in development at Netflix with Layla Swart producing.
