Paul Mayhew-Archer

Paul is a hugely experienced British writer, producer, comedian and presenter. Most recently, he has written and executive produced the upcoming film ONWARDS AND SIDEWAYS, directed by John Madden and produced by Hilltop Screen for John Gore Studios and the BBC starring Rhys Ifans and Laura Linney.

Paul has lived with Parkinson’s since 2011 and is also the co-host of the podcast MOVERS AND SHAKERS, which focuses on experiences of Parkinson’s disease, and he created the documentary PARKINSON’S: THE FUNNY SIDE in 2016, for which he won the prestigious Grierson Award for Best Presenter. He also toured his show INCURABLE OPTIMIST, produced by Berk’s Nest, around the UK to raise awareness of Parkinson’s. 

Further writing credits in film include the much lauded Roald Dahl’s ESIO TROT, which he co-adapted with Richard Curtis and starred Dame Judi Dench and Dustin Hoffman. On the TV side, Paul co-wrote three series of THE VICAR OF DIBLEY and six series of MY HERO, script edited beloved series including GROWNUPS, MRS BROWN’S BOYS, MIRANDA and TWO PINTS OF LAGER…, and was the script consultant on CAN YOU KEEP A SECRET.  Paul previously worked as a Comedy Commissioner for BBC Radio.
