Stephanie Yamson is a British-Ghanaian writer who worked as a Story Consultant on the BAFTA and EMMY Award Winning TV series I May Destroy You created by Michaela Coel for BBC/HBO and for BAFTA winning Big Deal Films/A24/BBC comedy drama series Dreaming Whilst Black. Her original drama series, Winging It, had a Sky Table read produced by music artist Stormzy’s company, Merky Films. Stephanie participated in the writers’ room for Nicole Lecky’s series Wild Cherry with Firebird Pictures and the BBC and is currently developing an original series idea with Firebird.
Her script adaptation of Shani Akilah’s For Such A Time As This for ITV Studios company Five Acts, was selected for the 2025 Brit List, and is in broadcaster-funded development. For Audible, she wrote an episode for new Black British love series, Do Not Disturb starring show creator Sherise Blackman alongside Saffron Comber, Richard Blackwood and Judi Love. Stephanie is a trained actor having graduated from The London School of Musical Theatre and has worked in TV, film, theatre, and voice over with companies including the BBC, Channel 4, the Young Vic, and Talawa Theatre Company.
