Sydney Dire

Sydney began his career in development for leading production house Quizzical Pictures before he transitioned to writing and worked across comedies and telenovelas, including storylining Isithembiso for Mzansi Magic/M-Net in 2018 – proudly part of the team that won the SAFTA for TV writing in 2019. He quickly moved into the head writer role and co-created House of Zwide for eTV in 2021. Alongside his head writing duties Sydney has penned several Netflix series including Justice Served (July 2022) and Fatal Seduction S1 and S2 and head wrote heist thriller Marked which bowed on the service July 2025. Sydney is at home across both drama and comedy (he has several original specs in both spaces) and is currently writing a feature for Ochre Moving Pics and Netflix.
