Tertius Kapp

Tertius is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter, director and producer working in both English and Afrikaans; he has degrees in laser physics, philosophy, archaeology and creative writing. The original eco-horror feature Gaia (d. Jaco Bouwer), which Tertius wrote and produced made the official selection at SXSW. Gaia is distributed by Neon and Bleecker Street’s Decal in the US and it was listed on the top horror lists of 2021 by Variety, IGN.com and Forbes. In 2016 he won the South African Film and Television Award for his adaptation of Dis Ek, Anna which dominated the ceremony with five more awards and he wrote Griekwastad (d. Jozua Malherbe) starring Arnold Vosloo, which was awarded the SAFTA for Best Feature Film in 2020. In television he created the supernatural series Die Spreeus, which was SAFTA-nominated as Best Drama Series in 2020 and recently sold internationally. Tertius is currently writing a true crime series for Idea Candy and Showmax and Tertius wrote and directed all 8 eps of Juffrou X a series about a vigilante teacher tired of losing her students to gangs TX on kykNET April 2024. He is developing a comedy drama set in the world of women’s rugby for Dublin-based Soho Moon and SA’s Quizzical Pictures and we are actively seeking partners for Tertius’ Antarctic-set survival thriller-horror.
